akinoomoshin wiigwam was first built in the backyard of our founding eniigaanizid, Julia Pegahmagabow, when in 2018 we secured a full year of funding to offer our first language immersion and earth learning program for children.
While we offer other opportunities to our learning community, we also continue to develop our program of learning for children, rooted in anishinaabe izhichigewin and pedagogies. Our goal is for akinoomoshin wiigwam to become fully operational by once again offering a daily immersion and earth learning program for children and their families.
