Our Relations

Community Based Research

On June 21, 2022, akinoomoshin began a formal partnership to support our research of anishinaabe kendaaswin and knowledge transmission. Through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council’s (SSHRC) Race, Gender and Diversity Initiative, Dr. Joey-Lynn Wabie and the Maamwizing Resarch Institute, in partnership with Akinoomishin Inc., received a grant to support a multi-year project, titled: Maamwizing: a hub for Indigenous community-driven research.

Applying an original research model based on a seven-pointed star and founded in the Seven Grandfather Teachings of Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility, Love, Wisdom, and Truth, this partnership has helped Akinoomoshin to re-search our pathway to anishinaabe kendaaswin and knowledge transmission.
